University Intramural-Recreational Sports
sponsors a variety of daytime and evening classes, including yoga,
dance, aerobics, martial arts, scuba, rock-climbing, kayaking, and
squash, open to anyone in the community, whether or not you hold
a recreational pass. Class fees are a bit higher for non-pass holders,
but prices are very reasonable, much lower than similar classes in
the community. Instructors are often very good. Semester schedules
come out in late August and early January, with an initial sign-up
day in early September and late January. Popular classes fill up
quickly, so sign up early for your choice. Drop-in group exercise classes are also available and are first come, first serve. Open only to members, they are $5 per class, and discount packages are available. More
Self-guided walking tours of historic downtown
Charlottesville, informative and easy to follow, are available online and
at the local Chamber of Commerce
(East Market and 5th St. NE, 295-3141).

Virginia Sports
A valid full-time student
ID admits all UVA students to Cavalier games free, including football
games in Scott Stadium, basketball games in University Hall (or "U-Hall"),
and soccer games at Klockner Stadium, all just down the street from
the Law School. For ACC and NCAA championship games, students must
buy tickets. Students who wish to buy guest or championship event
tickets, or faculty and staff desiring tickets, should contact the
Athletic Ticket Office at the north entrance of University Hall,
9 am - 5 pm, 924-UVA1 locally or 1-800-542-UVA1 from out of town.
For more information, go to virginiasports.com.

Virginia Law Families Tip:
ACAC is pricey, but offers superb facilities (they
even set up weights for you on fitness circuit) and the Albemarle Square
location has a great child care facility called Kids Zone. You can
buy a child-care card for a specified number of visits. Family membership
includes unlimited child-care visits (2 hours/day max). Staff often
involves kids in crafts and other activities rather than just watching
them play.
