Annual Giving Results, 2008-2009
A record-setting number of alumni made a gift to the Law School last year. At the conclusion of the 2008-2009 Annual Giving Campaign, 8,050 alumni, or 52 percent, provided $7.7 million, including more than $3.8 million in unrestricted funds. The number of alumni participating was the highest in the Law School's history.
In 2008-2009, more than $13 million of Law School expenditures came from private giving. The Law School's current strength and national standing can be attributed directly to private support.
Private donations provide funding for faculty benefits and summer research support, financial aid, library needs, student publications, organizations, and activities, and other priorities as they develop. Donations also fund Law Grounds maintenance, renovation, and expansion projects.
