Director of Judicial Clerkships

Ruth Payne advises students and alumni as they navigate the application process for both judicial internships and judicial clerkships. This includes counseling, reviewing cover letters and resumes, conducting mock interviews and running workshops on the clerkship process. Bio | Contact

 

holly duke
Director of Career Counseling

Holly Duke works with students on the exploration of legal practice areas, alternatives to the traditional uses of a J.D. and general job search preparation, including resumes, cover letters and interviewing. Holly coaches students on how to have a more impactful presentation in the interview room, is a strong networking coach and can conduct videotaped mock interviews.  Bio | Contact

patrice hayden
Director of Law Firm Recruiting

With eight years of large firm practice experience, Patrice Hayden assists students who are considering or applying for positions in law firms. She works with students in preparing resumes and cover letters, forming effective interviewing themes and preparing for interviews. She also helps students evaluate different practice areas and compare alternative jobs to firm practice. Patrice coordinates the involvement of the school and its students in job fairs across the country. Bio | Contact

W. Stevenson hoPson IV
Senior Career Counselor and Assistant Dean

Steve Hopson manages the process of counseling alumni. He also counsels students seeking law firm positions and is particularly knowledgeable about law firms (large and small) in Virginia. Dean Hopson assists students with employment documents, including improving the visual impact and content focus of a resume. He advises students seeking to identify target employers in particular jurisdictions and in facilitating networking with alumni. Bio | Contact
 

Sherry Morris (left) and Lynn Stiteler have more than 20 years of combined work experience in the Office of Career Services. They help run the office and handle many of the logistical details for On-Grounds Interviews. If they cannot answer your quick question, they can find someone who can.
