While the Monticello Wine Trail has garnered much attention, Charlottesville has a new reputation brewing. Livability has named C'ville No. 8 on its list of Top 10 Beer Cities List. So now, if you have a free weekend (and a designated driver, of course), you can journey down the Brew Ridge Trail and sample beers from popular microbreweries Starr Hill, South Street, Blue Mountain, Devil's Backbone and Wild Wolf.

Restaurants come and go. For the latest on Charlottesville restaurants, see the list in the back of C-Ville Weekly, (Dining Website) or check out, which offers surveys and rankings of local restaurants. For true-blue foodies, the Hook's food blog, The Dish, offers breaking news on dining and food.
