The Special Collections department at the University of Virginia Law Library provides access to rare, historical, and unique materials with an emphasis on Anglo-American law. Items are assigned to this controlled area because of their age, special research value, rarity, or fragility. Included in the collections are books, manuscripts, archival records and publications, faculty writing, and photographs. The department's primary aim is to meet the research needs of the Law School faculty, administrators, students, and alumni. We also welcome members of the University of Virginia community and the scholarly community at large.
Some materials are located off-site and researchers are asked to call or e-mail in advance to make arrangements for a visit to Special Collections. Please contact Alison White or Cecilia Brown for further information or requests for assistance. |
