Law School Offers Support to Virginia Tech
The Law School community will gather to write letters of condolence and support to the Virginia Tech family this evening from 6:15 to 9 p.m. in Withers-Brown Hall room 128. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to the event, which was organized by second-year law student Mai-Linh Hong. The Law School will provide stationery and postage; the Student Bar Association will provide refreshments.
“It touches my heart to see how strong our community is and how quickly we come together in times of need,” said SBA President Brian Leung. “We saw it last year with Hurricane Katrina. We are seeing it again now.”
The University of Virginia is also holding a vigil tonight on Central Grounds in the University Amphitheatre, at 7 p.m. (rain location: Newcomb Hall ballroom). Students are welcome to bring candles and large sheets of paper to write thoughts and tributes. University President John Casteen is scheduled to speak at the vigil.
