Howard Moderates Televised Supreme Court Panel
Professor A.E. Dick Howard moderated a televised panel discussion Saturday morning on the major decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court’s current term.
The event was part of the Fourth Judicial Circuit Conference held at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., and can be viewed online at CSPAN's Web site.
“The panel will discuss highlights and important cases from the current term of the Supreme Court,” Howard said Friday.
The panel included Linda Greenhouse, a Yale University scholar who covered 29 terms of the Supreme Court for the New York Times; Jan Crawford Greenburg of ABC News; Ted Olson, a former U.S. Solicitor General who has argued several cases in front of the court, including Bush v. Gore; and John McGinnis of Northwestern University Law School.
“It’s a chance to take the measure of the current Roberts court, with particular interest on the interplay between the conservative and liberal blocs of the court,” Howard said.
The panel was preceded by a conversation between Chief Justice John Roberts and Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson III of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
