Early Decision - 15-Day Notification
If the University of Virginia is your first choice for law school, you may apply under the Early Decision option. Early Decision applicants commit to enrolling if admitted and must withdraw all applications to other law schools once notified of Early Decision admission. Early Decision applicants must ensure that we have received a completed application by Dec. 15, 2009.
A completed Early Decision application includes:
- the signed Early Decision Agreement (this form must be mailed to us; it is not submitted electronically)
- the application
- any attachments required as part of the application, including the personal statement and résumé
- the LSAT/LSDAS report
- two letters of recommendation
- and the $75 application fee
It can take several days for an application submitted through the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) electronic application service to reach us. If you are applying as an in-state candidate, you also must submit the Application for In-State Educational Privileges with the application. An Early Decision applicant who is held for reconsideration is free to maintain or file new applications to other law schools and is not obligated to enroll at the University of Virginia if offered admission later in the admissions season.
Early Decision Admission - Notified Within 15 Days
Early Decision applicants will be notified of their decision no later than 15 days after all the following criteria have been met: the application for admission is complete, the early decision agreement has been received and residency status has been determined.
