How to Apply for Alternative Private Loans

Many banks offer alternative private student loans. Rates and conditions vary, so it is wise to review several banks’ programs. Please contact the lender of your choice for instructions about applying. The University will certify the loan once all other financial aid has been completed. The University can only certify loans for the total cost of attendance for the current academic year. Students should first borrow federal Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized loans before pursuing Graduate PLUS or alternative private loans.
