The system will provide you with an ID and password. Copy this information into a secure place, return to the SIS login page, and click the “SIS Login” button.

Instructions for Logging In and Completing the Law School Financial Aid Application

Below “Login with UVA Computing ID & Password” on the Netbadge login page, enter your Computing ID and the password you just generated. Once in the system, click on “Self Service,” then click on the link to the “Student Center.” In the Finances section of the Student Center, you will see a link for the Financial Aid Application under the Financial Aid heading. Click on “Apply Financial Aid for 2009-2010” to complete your application electronically.

Please note that entering law students age 26 and under who are unmarried are required to submit parental financial information to be considered for scholarship aid with a need component. A Law School Financial Aid Application Worksheet is available to assist you and your parents in completely the online application. All students are strongly encouraged to print and complete the worksheet prior to beginning the online application to expedite the process.

Please contact the Law School Financial Aid Office if you have difficulty accessing your account or completing the online Financial Aid Application.

Deadlines and Additional Financial Aid Information

We recommend that all admitted students who wish to be considered for scholarship aid submit their FAFSA and Law School Financial Aid Application before March 1, 2009. Applicants admitted to the Law School after March 1 should submit the form as soon as possible after receiving notification. The scholarship review process will begin in early March. Preliminary financial aid information should be available by March 30.

Please note that admitted students age 28 and under must submit parental financial information on the Law School Financial Aid Application to be considered for scholarship aid. Providing parental information via the FAFSA is optional, however, and does not negate the requirement to provide complete parental financial information on the institutional application. The requirement to provide parental data may be waived if providing it presents extreme hardship. You must contact the Law School Financial Aid Office to receive waiver information.

Complete packages will be available via the Student Portal of the Student Information System beginning in April. You will be notified via e-mail when your financial aid package is ready.
