UVA offered a world of exciting and challenging experiences to me. I learned a great deal about American culture and constitutional history by being at a school founded by one of the founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson. The Socratic teaching method was both stimulating and inspiring. I loved the vigorous legal discussions in classes and enjoyed working with students on a number of legal issues. Both the professors and the administrative staff did their best to see that our experience here at UVA was rewarding. They were easily accessible between and after classes and were always happy to offer support for our academic goals. My personal goal evolved when I decided to extend my training and pursue a J.D. degree. The School was very supportive and helpful and made the transition seamless. The atmosphere of cordiality among international and American law students was refreshing and encouraging. It allowed me to learn a lot about cultural and legal traditions of different countries and to meet a lot of remarkable people. Charlottesville is a very beautiful and tranquil environment with a perfect setting to make the best out of a great opportunity. More

The University of Virginia School of Law is enriched by the scope of student organizations, extracurricular activities, and the community spirit that permeates student life. Opportunities include eight academic journals, over 45 interest-centered organizations, student governance (both Law School and University), and a vibrant range of social and athletic activities. In addition, the University and local community are both large enough to offer something to meet anyone's interests and small enough to make active participation compatible with a student's rigorous academic schedule.

Graduate students are encouraged to participate in the many student organizations at the Law School. In addition, the Graduate Law Student's Association, composed of LL.M. and S.J.D. candidates, sponsors social activities and helps foster a sense of community here at the Law School.

Virginia values its reputation as a school that produces graduates who are skilled in law and balanced in life. It encourages students to enjoy their legal studies, to expand intellectually and personally, and join the thousands of successful alumni who recall their law school years with warmth and enthusiasm. LL.M. graduates carry on the Virginia tradition through active overseas alumni associations.
