Holly Duke is director of career counseling at the University of Virginia School of Law.
Duke previously worked for Duke University’s Career Center as senior assistant director. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee and a master’s in counseling from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill.
Prior to her work in career counseling, Duke served in AmeriCorps working on an urban, inner-city farm and providing environmental education to elementary school children. She later managed a Welfare to Work program in Brevard, N.C., before returning to graduate school to get her counseling degree. As a career counselor at Duke and the University of North Carolina, she worked with a broad range of students, but specialized in advising undergraduate and graduate students interested in business, technology, nonprofit and government careers.
