D. Brock Green

Green has been a partner with the Charlottesville firm of Jones and Green, LLP since 1991. He specializes in civil litigation with emphasis in employment law, personal injury and real estate. He obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1972 and his J. D. from the University of Virginia in 1975. Green is currently licensed and admitted to practice in all levels of federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and all Virginia courts. He has been a lecturer at Virginia Law since 1997, when he co-founded the Employment Law Clinic.

After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1975, Green obtained a judicial clerkship in Charlottesville with the Honorable Bernard V. McCusty, a Federal Administrative Law Judge with the Social Security Administration. He spent the next six years helping Virginia’s low income residents in a variety of positions. Among others, Brock founded and served as executive director of the Legal Aid Society of the New River Valley in Christiansburg, Virginia. He also served as the statewide training coordinator for the Virginia Poverty Law Center, where he was responsible for training Virginia legal aid lawyers and staff. In addition, he served as a consultant for the federal Legal Services Corporation. During the next ten years, prior to his co-founding Jones and Green, LLP, Green co-founded and worked as a partner at several other Charlottesville firms.

Green’s personal interests include outdoor sports and activities of all kinds. He was a founding partner of East Coasters Bicycle Shop, Inc., in Blacksburg and Roanoke. He served as chairman of the Citizens’ Bicycle Task Force in Charlottesville, and on the Offender Aid and Restoration Board of Directors. He has also coached three local AAU youth basketball teams.
