Bettina Weisser teaches Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure as well as European Criminal Law and International Criminal Law at University of Münster , Germany.

She has written extensively on Comparative Criminal Law in Europe and was national rapporteur for the Association Internationale de Droit Pénal (International Association of Penal Law) at the AIDP world congresses in 2009 and 2014, concerning the German criminal law on terrorism and cybercrime. Recently, she has conducted a comparative analysis of six European countries on “Criminal law at the end of life – euthanasia and assisted suicide” and another comparison of EU Law and national regulations of corporate (criminal?) liability in European Union Member States.

Weisser is member of the European Academy of Science and Arts and chair of the criminal law section of the German Association of Comparative Law.

She studied at the University of Konstanz where she also earned her Dr. jur. degree. After the Second State Exam (bar exam) she worked as a senior researcher at the University of Cologne before she joined the law faculty of University of Münster in spring 2011.
