| Tara Boyd Lecturer Tara Boyd is a partner in the Charlottesville office of LeClairRyan. She focuses her practice on land use, commercial real estate and common-interest communities. Boyd has worked with clients to obtain difficult land use approvals from a variety of jurisdictions including approval of rezoning proposals, special use permits, cluster subdivisions, street/alley vacations and developments in historic and design control districts. Boyd also has experience negotiating nonstandard conservation easements and obtaining state approval for sale of Virginia Land Preservation Tax Credits. Boyd negotiates complex commercial real estate acquisitions, sales and financings. Recently she has worked on the acquisition and financing of the leasehold estate in a shopping center, the acquisition and financing of three golf courses in Northern Virginia and loan/mezzanine financing of a winery. In addition, she has significant experience creating and registering condominiums including mixed-use, leasehold, conversion and other nonstandard arrangements. Recently she has worked on a medical office leasehold condominium in Suffolk, Virginia, a mixed-use condominium and health club and the conversion of 350 units of apartment housing to condominiums. Boyd also has experience advising clients on the advantages of the condominium form of ownership versus subdivision. | |
