| Michael D. Gilbert Associate Professor of Law Ph.D., University of California at Berkeley, 2008 J.D., University of California at Berkeley School of Law, 2005 B.S., Tulane University, 1999 Michael D. Gilbert joined the faculty in 2009. His areas of interest include law and economics, voting rules, judicial decision-making and direct democracy. He teaches legislation and election law. Gilbert clerked for Judge William A. Fletcher on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received his Ph.D. from the Jurisprudence and Social Policy Program at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his J.D. from Berkeley Law School, where he served as articles editor of the California Law Review. At Berkeley, he was an Olin Fellow in Law and Economics and the recipient of a National Science Foundation doctoral dissertation grant. Gilbert has consulted for the World Bank and worked as a research assistant for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He graduated summa cum laude in economics and political science from Tulane University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. | |
