Mark C. Christie

Lecturer

Mark Christie is a member of the State Corporation Commission of Virginia, which regulates the public utility, insurance and financial industries in Virginia. He was first elected by the General Assembly in 2004 and re-elected in 2010.

He has taught at the University of Virginia School of Law for the past five years. He has taught constitutional law and history at the Universities of Luzern, Switzerland and Trento, Italy through the Fulbright program, and at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He has also taught at the Florence School of Regulation of the European University Institute, and has taught law and public policy in a doctoral program at Virginia Commonwealth University since 2000.

Christie received undergraduate degrees from Wake Forest University in history and English, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from Georgetown.
