      Alan Schwartz is Sterling Professor of Law at Yale Law School, where he has taught since 1987. His scholarly interests include commercial law, corporate finance, contracts, products liability, consumer protection, law and economics, and bankruptcy. He will teach Contract in Contexts at the Law School in January 2005.

      After working as an associate for Rosenman, Colin, Kaye, Petschek, Freund & Emil (1964-69), Schwartz held a number of teaching posts at Indiana University (1969-76), USC Law Center (1976-87), and the California Institute of Technology (1981-87).

      He co-authored Commercial Law: Principles and Policies and Sales Law and the Contracting Process with U.Va. law professor Robert Scott in 1982.
