    Rajesh Aggarwal has expertise in corporate finance and the economics of organizations, with specialization in executive compensation, corporate governance, and contract theory. His current research focuses on how boards of directors contract with top management, how executive incentive contracts influence firm performance, and how stock market manipulation reduces market efficiency (and the Securities and Exchange Commission’s role in enforcement in cases of manipulation). Other research interests include examining investment banks’ incentives to underprice IPOs and the effects of financial and regulatory constraints on the design of securities.

    Aggarwal teaches courses in corporate finance. He is the recipient of the Teacher of the Year award at Said Business School, Oxford University and was nominated for the Teacher of the Year award at the University of Michigan Business School. He has presented his work at international conferences sponsored by The American Finance Association, the Western Finance Association, the American Economic Association, The Econometric Society, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the Financial Management Association, among others. He has presented his research at numerous business schools, law schools, and economics departments. He has published his work in journals such as Journal of Political Economy; The Journal of Finance; Journal of Financial Economics; and Journal of Money, Credit and Banking. He actively collaborates in joint research projects with colleagues at the University of Michigan, Duke University, and Dartmouth College.
