Porat has been a Visiting Scholar at Yale Law School (1989-90), a Visiting Professor at the University of California at Berkeley (1998-99), and in 2003 at the University of Chicago. From 1997-2002, he was Director of the Cegla Center for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law. He is the founder of the journal Theoretical Inquiries in Law and was its editor-in-chief during 1999-2003. Porat's scholarship includes Contributory Fault in the Law of Contracts (1997); Tort Liability under Uncertainty, with co-author Alex Stein (Oxford University Press 2001); and many articles in torts and contracts, most recently, "Does Risk to Oneself Increase the Care Owed to Others? Law and Economics in Conflict," co-authored with Robert Cooter; "Should Courts Deduct Non-Legal Sanctions from Damages?"; and "Anti-Insurance." | |
