Course Description:

This short course meets Monday-Thursday, 8:20-9:50 a.m., March 18-28.

As they have said in Washington ever since Watergate, it's not the crime it's the cover-up. Quite often, companies and individuals being investigated for certain substantive criminal offenses find themselves being forced to defend against criminal charges arising from their conduct during the course of that investigation. From lying to shredding documents to hiding witnesses, conduct aimed at concealing matters under investigation has become a prosecutor's favorite for investigation in its own right This course surveys the criminal laws applicable to efforts to cover-up the facts, and their severe consequences.
