Course Description:

This course meets August 29-October 31.

In their first few years of practice, new attorneys spend the bulk of their time conducting legal research. Through a combination of lecture, practice exercises and group activities, this class will introduce a number of primary and secondary legal sources and cover strategies for efficiently researching the law, both online and in print. We will learn and apply research skills to materials frequently encountered in legal practice, including case law, statutes, legislative history, administrative law and procedural rules, among others.

PREREQUISITE: Legal Research and Writing
COURSE REQUIREMENT: Written assignments, group activities and presentations, and class participation
