Course Description:
This January term course meets Monday-Friday, January 14-18.
This short course will provide students with a unique perspective into the many aspects of a start-up business – from creation and capitalization to IP protection and skills needed for day-to-day operations. Students will engage and explore business planning, entity choice, governance, financing, and exit opportunities. The course will follow the creation, development and growth of Cardagin Networks, Inc., a Charlottesville-based mobile loyalty company that has been branded a market leader by Inc. Magazine, CNET, Financial Times, Street Fight, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. The course will be co-taught by the Founder and CEO of Cardagin and UVA Law Alum, Rob C. Masri ’96.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Attendance at all class sessions is required. Enrolled students who do not attend the first class session will be dropped. Students seeking to enroll in this short course must attend the first class session.
COURSE REQUIREMENT: Response papers
