Course Description:
This is a survey of individual rights under the Constitution,
excluding
equal protection and criminal procedure. The allocation of time to subjects will be somewhat uneven, largely reflecting the interests of the casebook editors. My current plan is to spend several weeks on freedom of speech, two to three weeks each on religious liberty and the right to privacy (sexual and family choices and claims to a right to die), one to two weeks on economic liberties, and a day or two each on procedural due process and the right to bear arms. I may tweak this a bit when I lay out the course day by day, but this is the basic plan and it will not be changed much.
