Course Description:

Seminars in Ethical Values are designed to enhance students' understanding of ethical issues and address the broader ethical and moral responsibilities of the lawyer as citizen and leader. The seminars are graded on a pass/fail basis; students earn one credit in the spring semester upon successful completion of the seminar.

Open to students in the medical and law schools, this seminar encourages students both to recognize ethical conflicts that arise in professional and public life and to engage in critical reflection about their ethical responsibilities. This study of medical and legal ethics will take place through discussion of literature.

NOTE: We will meet five Thursday evenings 7-9:30 p.m. during the academic year. Anyone with a commitment that conflicts should not enroll.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: Attendance at all class sessions is required
