Course Description:

NOTE: This course is taught at the JAG School during their 4th quarter, March 18, 2013 - May 17, 2013. The instructor is MAJ Grimes.

This elective examines and analyzes issues of professional ethics from the senior defense counsel and military justice manager’s perspective. It explores particularly those areas of professional responsibility with the greatest impact on the conduct of trial and defense counsel. Emphasis is on the Rules of Professional Conduct applicable to military attorneys, but will be broad enough in scope to encompass anyone interested in this area. Classes are conducted in a seminar format. Portions of the elective meet ethics/professional responsibility CLE criteria.

PREREQUISITE: Professional Responsibility highly recommended, but not required
COURSE REQUIREMENT: Class participation and a take-home final examination
