Course Description:

SPECIAL NOTES REGARDING SESSION DATES/TIMES/ROOM: This yearlong workshop will meet every other week on average. Each meeting is held in the Faculty Lounge on the 3rd floor of Withers-Brown Hall.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: In each meeting, conducted over lunch, a leading scholar will present a current legal research paper using the methodology of law and economics. There will be no final exam. Instead, students are asked to submit ten short reactions papers to the papers presented (allowing student to take four “passes” at their convenience). The workshop is also attended by UVa faculty interested in the topic. The workshop provides a unique opportunity for students to engage with peers, faculty and outside speakers, exchange ideas and witness, participate in and contribute to legal scholarship.

ENROLLMENT NOTE: Students earn one credit hour in this yearlong lecture (one course load credit assigned to the Spring). A final grade and the credit will be awarded at the end of the academic year.

Course Requirement:Students will be required to submit ten short reaction papers during the semester. The deadlines for the papers will be announced by the Professors.
