Course Description:

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course aims to introduce students to the financial and legal aspects of advising a venture capital-backed firm with a quantitative emphasis. The financial consequences of venture capital funding agreements will be explored, with an emphasis on bridging the gap between legal terms and financial outcomes. Students will complete exercises on valuation, liquidation preferences, anti-dilution, and other important terms.

Prerequisites:Accounting and Corporate Finance required; Corporations or Corporations (Law & Business) required. SRO will waive these prerequisites only with written waiver from instructor based on undergraduate, graduate or work experience.
Course Requirement:In addition to class participation, students will be evaluated on class exercises and a Flex examination at the end of the semester.
