Ben Cooper co-teaches the January Term course Persuasion and guest lectures on oral advocacy.

Cooper received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Virginia. During law school, Cooper was a semifinalist in the Lile Moot Court Competition, and he served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law. In his third year, Cooper worked for the Albemarle County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, successfully trying a jury case to conviction and handling nearly 100 other cases.

Cooper is currently an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan Lovells. His practice focuses on antitrust litigation, government investigations, and antitrust clearance of mergers and acquisitions. He is involved in the firm’s pro bono efforts, serves on the firm’s diversity committee and recruits on behalf of the firm. In August 2013, Cooper will begin a clerkship for Judge R. Guy Cole Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
