Ben Cooper co-teaches the January Term course Persuasion and guest lectures on oral advocacy.

Cooper received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Virginia. During law school, Cooper was a semifinalist in the Lile Moot Court Competition and served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law. In his third year, Cooper worked for the Albemarle County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, successfully trying a jury case to conviction and handling nearly 100 other cases.

Cooper is currently clerking on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Before that, he was an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Hogan Lovells, where his practice focused on antitrust, white collar, and litigation matters.
