David W. Selden teaches Hedge Funds: Contract and Regulation at the University of Virginia School of Law and is a corporate partner resident in the New York office of Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson. He joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2009. Selden works on a variety of investment management and securities law matters, with emphasis on private investment vehicles including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds and funds-of-funds. He advises major financial institutions, fund sponsors, institutional investors, investment advisers and commodity trading advisers on commercial, securities and compliance matters relating to the formation and offering of funds, management company structure, bespoke products, managed accounts and related matters. He has been routinely recognized for his expertise by Chambers USA and Legal 500.
