Diane Pappas will co-instruct the spring Law School short course Poverty, Child Health and Medical-Legal Partnerships. She is a professor of pediatrics at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital, where she is the director of child advocacy, responsible for the advocacy training of pediatric residents. She has an active general pediatric practice serving a rural population. She is also a licensed attorney.
In partnership with the Legal Aid Justice Center and the University of Virginia School of Law, she has developed and implemented a medical-legal partnership for children on-site at the medical center, aas well as the development of a network of medical-legal partnerships throughout Virginia. Her past experience includes work as an assistant national medical director on the National Medical-Legal Partnership Medical Advisory Board.
