Crystal Shin

Crystal Shin is a Lewis F. Powell Fellow and an attorney at JustChildren, a program of the Legal Aid Justice Center. At JustChildren, Shin provides individual legal representation to children and families in the areas of special education, student discipline, and school enrollment. She has also been involved in statewide policy work pertaining to student discipline in Virginia schools.

Shin graduated from the University of Virginia with an undergraduate degree in psychology in 2004 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2010. During her time at the law school, she was a member of the Public Interest Law Association Board, Women of Color, the Virginia Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and the SBA Diversity Committee. Shin is the 2010 recipient of the University of Virginia School of Law’s Margaret G. Hyde Award.

Prior to law school, Shin taught fourth grade for three years through the Teach For America program.
