Andrew Vollmer is a partner in the Securities Litigation and Enforcement Practice Group of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr. He returned to the firm in March 2009 after serving as deputy general counsel at the Securities and Exchange Commission. His practice concentrates on securities enforcement, private securities litigation and internal investigations. In addition, he advises more generally on matters related to the SEC and the federal securities laws.
As deputy general counsel, Vollmer advised the SEC on enforcement proceedings, rulemakings, appellate briefs and adjudications. During his tenure at the SEC, he was involved in a variety of commission initiatives, including the SEC's participation in several Supreme Court cases and the commission's proposal, adoption and defense of various rules.
Vollmer has spoken and written frequently on securities law and related matters and for many years led sessions on internal investigations at the Stanford Directors College.
