Sarah Esterhay is director of career services at the University of Virginia School of Law.
Prior to joining the law school, Esterhay practiced law at BuckleySandler in Washington, D.C., where she served financial services industry clients in a broad range of regulatory and litigation matters, focusing primarily in the mortgage industry. While at the firm, she served as a member of the Associate & Counsel Committee and as a mentor for new associates.
Esterhay began her legal career as a judicial clerk for Judge Raymond A. Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
Esterhay has a B.A. in sociology from Cornell University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She has a J.D. from the University of Virginia, where she was managing editor of the Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law.
