- Students with other computers
- Security checks: Firewall, WinXP OS updates, Norton Antivirus, File & Print Sharing, change local administrator account password.
- Wireless installation/configuration. You may need to read the "Fixing Problems: Tips and Problem Solving after your initial setup" section at the bottom of the web page. In particular you may need to start using the open 'wahoo' wireless network first and then move to the secured 'cavalier' network.
- Printing from notebooks
- Home Directory Services
- Purchase a 'thumbnail" drive or read/write CDs. You need a removable storage device to save your exams, papers, outlines on.
- Use of computers for purposes unrelated to the educational mission of the classroom distracts the students directly involved and those around them.
- Accordingly, a faculty committee recommended that use of computers in the classroom be limited to appropriate activities. Inappropriate activities generally would include sending or receiving e-mail, instant messaging, playing computer games, and accessing websites not specifically related to classroom discussion.
- Ultimate authority rests with the teacher.
