The law school has an Academic Placement Committee, which assists UVA students and graduates who are interested in pursuing a career in law school teaching. The Committee is currently chaired by Professor Fred Schauer. Among other things, the Committee can describe and provide advice about the academic hiring process, which differs substantially from the hiring process used by law firms and other legal employers.
