The Sadie Lewis Webb Lecture Series

2008-09: The Future of Health Care Reform

For the last 20 years, health care reform has been a simmering national discussion involving every facet of the economy and health care delivery system. The 2008 presidential election and recent state forays into health care reform have again brought the issue to the forefront of a national debate.

This year’s Sadie Lewis Webb lecture series begins by focusing on health care reform plans offered by the presidential candidates. Successive sessions will feature nationally known speakers and panels, including policymakers, private-industry and think-tank representatives, and scholars.

The lectures are open to the public. Students participating in the companion Themes in Biomedicine course will be provided background materials before each session and will be required to submit a response paper after each session.
