Course Description

This course surveys a range of individual constitutional rights topics, emphasizing the Speech and Religion Clauses of the First Amendment, as well as selected topics such as the Second Amendment and privacy (e.g., mandatory vaccination, experimental medications). It overlaps substantially with the Speech & Press and Church & State courses and is intended for students who want a basic overview of this material and may not plan to take those more in-depth classes. (It does not cover equal protection/civil rights issues or criminal process.) The particular topics and emphasis will reflect contemporary legal developments in the courts and executive branch.
