Course Description

This short course will help prepare students for the nuts and bolts of cyber security and privacy practice. We will have guest lectures from and private sector who will discuss the ins and outs and challenges of their practices and work remit. We will discuss compliance with emerging state privacy laws and cyber security mandates at the federal and state level.

Written Work Product

Students will be required to submit two response papers (directly to the instructors, not via EXPO). No work will be expected to be submitted by students after the conclusion of the last class session.

Students will be expected to complete in-class exercises for data breaches.

Prerequisites: It is helpful but not required to have taken Privacy, Computer Crime and/or Cyber Security. Also, because the credits in this course count toward the JD Program Professional Skills requirement, JD candidates will be given enrollment priority for this class. Concurrencies: None
