Course Description

This short course examines the role of markets in promoting (or inhibiting) the full participation of women in society. Topics covered include freedom of contract; property rights; labor market access and occupational licensing; sales of ova and embryos; surrogacy services; sex work; societal expectations of generosity and self-interest; women's lives under socialism and communism; and women as entrepreneurs and managers.
