Course Description

This short course aims to provide an understanding of the fundamental principles of public international law pertaining to settlement of disputes between states, the procedures (methods) available and the institutions (forums) that makes up the settlement system. The aims include - Understanding the concept of peaceful settlement of international disputes and elaborating on the need to have such dispute redressal mechanisms, Enhancing the knowledge about the forums dealing with such disputes at the international level and having knowledge about the alternatives to adversarial settlement of disputes.

Exam Information

Final Type (if any): Flex with Paper Option

Description: Students will be assessed based on the following: (1) 50% moot court exercise and (2) 50% Flex exam or paper (max 2000 words). Students opting to take the Flex exam will checkout the exam from SRO and take the exam in the building during business hours between Sept. 27 and Oct. 11. Students opting for the paper option must upload the paper to EXPO by noon on Oct. 11, 2024.
