Course Description

This course will explore the arguments for and against our great Constitution. Only by understanding the original debates can you understand the document’s original meaning. And to understand the original debates you cannot read the Federalist Papers alone. Indeed, the Anti-Federalists are half of the story. And when it comes to the Bill of Rights they may be almost the whole story. During this class, we will have the opportunity to discuss the reasons for and against the Constitution, the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Power, and the need for the Bill of Rights.
