Course Description

The health care system in the United States is probably the most complex in the world. Measuring its successes and failures can be tracked to four simple outcomes: access, affordability, quality and choice. By those measures, with the possible exception of choice, the United States lags be behind many other countries. After the 2020 election and with a case pending before the Supreme Court that may affect the viability of the ACA, health care is likely to once again be in the political spotlight. This class will deeply explore the reforms being considered by politicians and health care policy experts as we respond to political ramifications of the election and the effects of the pandemic.
