Course Description
This is the first semester of a yearlong seminar designed to enhance students' understanding of ethical issues and address the broader ethical and moral responsibilities of the lawyer as citizen and leader. In this seminar in ethical values (know as “the Seminar of Ice and Fire”) we will explore the law of Game of Thrones. Topics include the Constitution of Westeros, democracy within the Night’s Watch, whether and how there can be order without law, climate change and the white walkers, transitional justice in Meereen, and whether Dany can break the wheel, amongst others. Familiarity with the world of Westeros is assumed (either based on the show or the books).
