Course Description
This course provides an introduction to U.S. antitrust law and the economic principles that inform antitrust practice. Topics covered include price fixing and horizontal conspiracies; monopolies, monopolization, and market power; vertical distribution restraints; boycotts; exclusive dealing and tying arrangements; mergers and acquisitions; the application of U.S. antitrust law abroad; and state action and petitioning immunity. Economic analysis plays a central role in this course, but no prior background in economics is required.
