Course Description
This seminar will consider both “classic” and recent theories of contract law, including philosophical and economic theories. Among the questions we will consider are: What does it mean to have a “theory” of contract law? Are theories of contract law necessary? Useful? What are the key similarities and differences among the various theories?

Written Work Product
Written Work Product: Students will submit several short response papers (2-4 pages) plus one longer final paper (10 pages), or students may opt to do a substantial research paper to satisfy the writing requirement due via EXPO by the last day of the finals period. Students opting to submit a substantial research paper for their Upper-Level Writing Requirement must submit a "special request" form to SRO by February 27th.
