Course Description

Legislation and Regulation is an introduction to lawmaking in the modern administrative state. It will examine the way Congress and administrative agencies adopt binding rules of law (statutes and regulations, respectively) and the way that implementing institutions -- courts and administrative agencies -- interpret and apply these laws.

Written Work Product: Students will have the option of taking a Flex exam or submitting a paper (due by noon on last day of exam period via EXPO). 2L, 3L or LLM students intending to use the final paper for their Upper-Level Writing Requirement must submit a "Special Request" form to SRO by Feb. 27th. The form and submission instructions are available on LawWeb.
