Brittany Marie Jones Record is an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Latham & Watkins, and has previously served as senior counsel to the U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and as deputy solicitor general of Virginia.
At her firm, Record focuses on motions practice in complex cases and appeals in the federal and state appellate courts. She has argued several cases in the Fourth and Seventh Circuits, the Virginia Supreme Court and Virginia trial courts. She also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on constitutional issues.
She previously served as a law clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen G. Breyer, Judge Patricia Millett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and Judge Jeffrey Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she served as president of the Stanford Law Review and vice president of the American Constitution Society.
