Christopher A. Ripple teaches in the area of food law and policy. Prior to joining the Law School, Ripple was an associate at Sidley Austin in Chicago and McGuireWoods in Charlottesville. He has worked with clients across the food industry to comply with food safety and food labeling regulations. Ripple was a frequent speaker and contributor to industry publications, and he has trained both food industry professionals and FDA personnel.
Ripple’s experience in practice also includes a wide range of commercial and class action litigation, including antitrust, securities fraud, investment fund, and director and officer liability litigation. In pro bono matters, Ripple represented a group of individuals in a class action under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and he argued an appeal in a criminal case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Ripple received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was the editor-in-chief of the Virginia Journal of International Law. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
